Network Engineer/Administrator
Our client, a rapidly growing laboratory organization, is seeking a Network Engineer/Administrator to support a short-term initiative focused on migrating network equipment from a less secure environment to a more secure, segmented network. This role requires strong technical expertise, coordination skills, and the ability to work effectively with various personnel, vendors, and executive leadership. About 70% of this role is Network focused and the rest of this role will be a variety of others tasks. We are looking for someone who will enthusiastically wear multiple hats! Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the migration of network devices to a secure network environment.
- Collaborate with lab staff to ensure minimal disruption to operations during migration.
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal technical teams to align on timelines and deliverables.
- Configure and troubleshoot network components including switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Document network changes and maintain clear records of configurations and migration steps.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices throughout the project.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP, VLANs, Routing, Firewalls, Switches, VPN.
- Experience with network segmentation and security-focused migrations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti network equipment is a plus but not required.
- Previous experience in laboratory or scientific environments is a bonus.
