Data Analyst 

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to help transition to a Pub/Sub (publish/subscribe) data model and optimize their approach to data integration. This role will play a key part in designing, overseeing, and implementing the movement of data from various systems into an operational data store while ensuring legacy systems remain operational and available. This position is focused on the retail side of the business but will also support supply chain, business intelligence (BI), and other teams with their data needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data best practices including data movement, transformation, and quality. Location: Remote with travel

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the transition to a Pub/Sub model, ensuring a scalable and efficient data architecture. 
  • Integrate APIs from various systems into an operational data store. 
  • Work with analysts, engineers, SMEs, and stakeholders to gather business requirements and define technical solutions. 
  • Create technical requirements and oversee their implementation, ensuring development aligns with business needs. 
  • Maintain the availability and integrity of legacy systems’ data while enabling modernization. 
  • Ensure data consistency, quality, and best practices in data movement and transformation. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data needs across retail, supply chain, BI, and other departments. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • 3-5+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or related roles. 
  • Strong experience with Pub/Sub models, APIs, and data integration. 
  • Knowledge of operational data stores and best practices in data movement and transformation. 
  • Experience working with stakeholders, SMEs, and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions. 
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and best practices. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Experience in the retail or supply chain domain is a plus. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Hands-on experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Google Pub/Sub). 
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data processing. 
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). 
  • Knowledge of BI tools and reporting systems.
