Summary
The Data Engineering Team is currently redesigning a major transportation, tracking and billing product. We are now seeking a seasoned QA Data Engineer to collaborate with our Agile development team. We anticipate that it will take approximately two more years to complete this project. In this role, you will write testing plans and routines, manage continuous integration and regression testing processes, and be the point person for clearing data for release according to delivery specifications. The engineer must be able to function effectively in a high-volume, rapid delivery environment. We are looking for someone who considers themselves to be an excellent team player with a positive attitude. This role will play a critical part in supporting us to continue in our journey; developing the data platform on next-generation technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with development leads and data engineers to create testing strategies
- Define, build, automate, execute testing for code in an agile practice and according to the sprint planning
- Design, monitor and maintain QA reports, KPIs & quality trends for the internal data systems
- Design and build test automation framework for data pipelines
- Execute and automate test cases, and perform bug tracking
- Help create and implement quality processes and requirements
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
§ Prior experience in QA and testing (data, regression, automation, defect)
§ Working knowledge of a testing framework
§ Hands-on experience of testing in system, integration testing phases
§ Prior experience in testing Cloud based data solutions, preferably Azure
§ Strong Python & SQL skills to carry out data validations (preferably in Databricks)
§ Great Expectations and Pydeequ are strongly preferred
§ Experience in design, development & maintenance of manual and automation test scripts
§ Experience in Agile delivery techniques, processes, practices, and tooling
§ Strong interest in latest data engineering technologies, best practices, techniques and trends in the data industry
Preferred Qualifications
· Prior experience in rail industry or other transportation based commodities
· Knowledge of JSON
· Experience with Databricks
· Python libraries such as Great Expectations and Pydeequ
· Azure DevOps
