What we need this person to do

The High Performing Computing (HPC) Cluster Administrator is responsible for the feeding and maintaining of HPC clusters and compute environments. They will be part of the platform team and will be responsible for writing python code that automates the lifecycle of HPC systems, on-prem and in the cloud. He or she would take part in our standups, sprints, sprint planning meetings, and retro/review meetings. We work with teams based here in the US and internationally. Because of this, we have regular 6am PST meetings to overlap with our distributed clients.

Some common tasks performed by the Cluster Administrators include; infrastructure tracking and documentation, maintaining a Python-based automation suite, performing routine cluster maintenance/upgrades, building CI/CD systems and participating sprint meetings. The right person for this role will be excited about being the driving force behind the implementation of our cluster lifecycle automation codebase (a big part of the job) and will be equally as excited about running administrative operations at scale in an enterprise compute environment

  • 2+ years working with HPC Clusters
  • 2+ years working with Python
  • 2+ years working with ideally AWS but if you have other cloud experience, that’s ok too.
