The Role:
The Software Development Team Lead is responsible for the architecture and technical direction of a software project.  In this job, you will also be responsible for the growth, mentoring, and management of other software engineers.  You will work closely with product management to understand business needs and guide projects from conception through implementation.

- Guide engineering teams in adoption of architectural standards
- Work across the stack from UI to database
- Leverage AWS to deliver efficient, cloud-native solutions
- Translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications
- Assist in the preparation of project plans and product roadmaps
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and direction to other team members
- Design and develop REST APIs and other code that is reliable, maintainable, and extendable
- Write unit, integration, and functional tests, and guide others in doing the same
- Document software designs and project tasks
- Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software design
- Lead and participate in design/code reviews
- Interview and provide technical assessments of employment candidates

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline
- 6+ years experience in software development
- 2+ years team lead / management experience
- Experience developing and deploying in AWS
- Experience using modern frameworks (such as Node.js, Spark, or Spring Boot) to build microservices
- Experience developing REST APIs according to established best practices
- Experience using a modern development framework such as React or Angular to build web UIs
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, experience with Node.js a plus
- Expert understanding of software design principles and patterns, and experience applying them
- Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
- High productivity and effective time management
- Experience with Scrum/Agile SDLC
