An experienced Data Administrator that has designed, implemented, and maintained large OLTP and OLAP data stores preferably in Amazon Web Services. You will be responsible for administering our AWS RDS databases as well as providing solutions for analytics in AWS RedShift, supporting our software development and data analyst teams. Additional Information:
Our ideal candidate will:
- Design, develop and administer database solutions in MySQL, AWS RDS, AWS RedShift, and NoSQL platforms
- Create data lakes in AWS for collection, transformation, and analysis of billions of points of data.
- Monitor database availability, usage, and performance in a production environment as well as support development, test, QA, and UAT environments
- Perform data modeling for a highly transactional OLTP environment
- Design, implement, and maintain large data warehouse in AWS with billions of data points
- Develop database solutions to manage production data and schema upgrades
- Be responsible for creating ETL across data schemas and platforms
- Performance tuning and optimization of SQL using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
 
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience in database in database administration of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
- Strong data modeling and design experience in an OLTP and OLAP environments
- Experience in administering data in a microservices architecture with data warehousing and analytics
- Ability to create, deploy, and maintain database objects (tables, procedures, triggers)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong performance tuning skills; index management, and SQL code optimization
- Experience working collaboratively with Engineering, Support, and IT organizations to schedule, troubleshoot, and manage changes to a production RDS environment
- Knowledge of replication, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for AWS RDS, DynamoDB, and AWS Redshift
- ETL experience in AWS Glue a plus
- Experience with change tracking and source control software
- Experience with AWS Redshift clusters
- Experience implementing operational automation using scripts
- Familiar with denormalization of data for Data Mart / Data Warehouse environments
- Familiar with Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
