Location: Portland, OR
We’re looking for a senior level MS BI stack developer, and if you have Power BI and Dynamics CRM experience that would be awesome, but not necessarily required. We are also looking for someone who is more than just technical, where you can sit down with power users and do some discovery sessions with them for what they are looking for with regards to reports, data, and things of that nature. If you’re interested in this role, please send your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. We value diversity in the workplace and strongly encourage women, minorities, and veterans to apply. Thank you.
Job Type: Contract
This person will be working directly with CFO and company controller, understanding what their KPI’s are, and ultimately build the reports that they need and want to distribute across the organization. This person will be helping lead a group of financial folks that haven’t had a tremendous amount of experience with reports and data. They will need someone to mock-up the reports and help the finance team to understand the trends that they can look at to make better business decisions. The first two weeks of this role are largely discovery and having those conversations with the CFO, Controller, etc. and eliciting their business requirements from them.
Currently they have a set of canned reports in Dynamics (CRM product line) and Power BI, and the person who created these reports is more of a data analyst and less experienced in the BI space. They need more of a BI Developer type of person, where this BI person will translate requirements through the lens of finance folks and write code and build reports. They are using Power BI in the desktop (but not the Cloud version). Internally they eventually want to have access control by role and roll out these reports to different managers across the organization.
Responsibilities and requirements:
1. Database development using T-SQL
2. Report writing and automation (MS BI stack of SSRS/AS/IS)
3. Possibly even writing some VB.NET code
4. Working with high-level users to elicit their requirements from them
5. Senior level in nature
6. Great communication skills
